Harun al-Rashid, fearing Imam Musa al-Kadhim’s (PBUH) influence, deceitfully entered Medina under the pretext of Hajj, publicly declaring his intent to imprison the Imam. Arrested during prayer, Imam was moved between harsh prisons until Harun ordered Sindi bin Shahak to poison him, leading to the Imam’s martyrdom in Baghdad.
A traveler in Medina sought the most generous man and was directed to Imam Hussain (PBUH). After praising him in poetry, the Imam gave him 4,000 dinars wrapped in his own cloak, expressing regret it wasn’t more. Deeply moved, the man wept—not from the gift’s size, but from the Imam’s nobility.
Lady Fatimah (peace be upon her), revered by the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) as “a part of me,” stood firmly in defense of divine truth and justice after his passing. When oppression and political deviation threatened Islam’s core, she courageously voiced her anger and exposed injustice—fulfilling the Prophet’s prophetic warning.
