On his deathbed, Jabir ibn Abdullah expressed preferring hardship over ease, seeing it as faith. Imam Baqir (PBUH) corrected him, teaching that true faith is complete submission to Allah’s will—accepting life, death, health, or illness as He decrees. This showed Jabir a higher spiritual level of contentment with divine will.

Visiting Imam Baqir (PBUH)

Imam Baqir (PBUH) met Jabir ibn Abdullah Ansari, the elderly blind companion of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH\&HP). Jabir conveyed the Prophet’s greetings, recalling his prophecy about meeting Muhammad ibn Ali, the “splitter of knowledge.” Jabir, loyal to Ahl al-Bayt, was the first pilgrim of Karbala and a devoted defender of Imamat.
