The preservation of the essence and existence of Islam lies in safeguarding it. The protection of Islam’s geographical borders is just as important as defending its doctrinal boundaries. Therefore, it is essential for Muslims to protect their geographical borders from foreign influence with all their strength. After equipping their soldiers at the borders, they should seek help and support from the Almighty God for their border guards and offer their prayers for these warriors.
To emphasize the significance and value of this vital task — the defense of the borders of Muslims — it is enough to note that Imam Zain al-Abidin (peace be upon him), in one of the prayers of Sahifa Sajjadiya, asks our Lord:
“O God! Send blessings upon Muhammad and his family, and protect the borders of the Muslim lands with Your might. Strengthen their soldiers with Your power and grant them abundant blessings from Your wealth. Increase their numbers and sharpen their weapons. Keep their mission area (the border) firm and protect their positions. Establish unity and friendship among them, organize their affairs, and continuously provide them with the necessary supplies and food. Support them with Your help…”
“O God! Distract the polytheists so that they do not encircle the Muslims… Spread confusion among them so that they abandon gathering against the Muslims…”
“O God! Grant peace to every brave warrior of Your faith and every fighter from the followers of Your tradition who engages with the enemies of Islam in battle…”
“O God! Grant the same reward to any Muslim who takes care of the home of a warrior or border guard in their absence, just as the reward of the warrior is granted to them.” [1]
