The Unfair Creature

فهرست مطالب

If someone does us a favor like helping us or one of our loved ones out in a difficult day, how do we make up this kindness? How does our dignity rule in such case regardless if what religion we practice?

If this person stays kind and continuously does kindness to us and after a while he asks for something, how we respond to him?

Imam Hadi (PBUH) has narrated the following from his honorable father who narrated from the Prophet (PBUH&HP): “Allah (SWT) says: Oh Mankind! You do not act in fairness with me! I act kindly towards you by offering My bounties and you only increase your grudge against me by your ingratitude and sins; My Mercy and Compassion is streaming upon you and your evil and vice is only ascending back to Me. A great angel watches over you every day and night and keeps a record of your wrong doings and brings them to me [everyday]. Oh Mankind! If you were to hear your own actions from another’s tongue and you had not known who’s the owner of those actions, then you would have hated that person with all your heart for doing all those sins… ”1

And yet Allah (SWT) does not hate or turn against anyone; whatever mercy and bounty He has given us is simply unlimited and out of pure benevolence. The minimum fairness is that in response to so much compassion we do our best to consume these bounties in the path He would be satisfied and perform what He has requested from us.

The verses of chapter 96 of the Quran apparently show that the Night of Ordainment or Power (Laylatul Qadr) was not specifically restricted to the time of the descent of the Quran and the period of the call of the Messenger of Islam, but rather that it repeats annually until the end of this world.
