The tides of events, sometimes,\nforetell about the future developments in history. These prophecies get special\nimportance if they are from the source of revelation. In such cases, we ought\nto receive such implications, and after pondering over them, we have to\nacknowledge them, and prepare for their occurrence. The appointment (Mab?ath)\nof the prophet (PBUH&HP) was among the subjects which were foretold from\nlong before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Holy Quran explicitly states that\n?the People of the Book read about him and his traits, and they are aware that\ntheir prophets have elucidated the appearance of such leader (1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Therefore, the Jewish scholars, the\nChristian priests, and Arab geomancers knew about the emergence of the Prophet\n(PBUH&HP) from the clues in the Testaments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Based on these prophecies, when the\nmessenger of Allah (PBUH&HP), in the 7th A.H., wrote invitation letters to\nthe powerful governors of the world, Cesar (ruler of Rome) showed a remarkable\nreaction, the story of which follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the letter-carrier submitted the\nletter to Cesar (ruler of Rome), the wise king considered it possible that the\nletter was sent by the promised Mohammad in the Book. Therefore he ordered that\ndetailed information about his life be gathered, and he ordered his relatives\nor people who knew to him to be brought to him in person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By coincidence, at that time, Abu\nSufyan and some businessmen from Quraysh were in Syria (Shaam) for trade. Although,\ndue to his position, Abu Sufyan was a serious enemy of Islam, he knew the\nmessenger of Allah (PBUH&HP) and hic characteristics very well. Therefore,\nCesar?s agent reached them, and took them all to the palace of the king in\nJerusalem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The king ordered Abu-Sufyan to stand\nbefore him and answer his questions carefully, and the rest to stand behind him\nand follow his answers carefully, so that in case Abu-Sufyan lied, they would\ntip-off to the king. In that manner, the king started his questions, and Abu-Sufyan\nanswered as follows: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cesar: ?How is the lineage of Mohammad??<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abu Sufyan: ?He is from a noble family.?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cesar: ?Has any of his fathers ruled\npeople??<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abu Sufyan: ?No.?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cesar: ?Did he use to avoid lying\nbefore his appointment or not?? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abu Sufyan: ?He was an honest person.?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cesar: ?What classes of people mostly\nsupport him and accept his religion?? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abu Sufyan: ?The people of higher\nclass are against him, and people of middle class and lower class support him.?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cesar: ?Are his supporters increasing??<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abu Sufyan: ?Yes.?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cesar: ?Is he victorious in wars with\nhis enemies or is he defeated??<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abu Sufyan: ?Sometimes victorious and\nsometimes defeated.? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
At this point, Cesar told his\ntranslator: ?Tell them, if what they say is right, he is definitely the Prophet\nof the end of time. I respect him, and honor him.?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then, one of his courtiers tried\ntactfulness and said: ?In the letter, Mohammad has had his name prior to you.?\nCesar replied angrily: ?The person who is attented by angel Gabriel surely\ndeserves to have his name prior to mine.?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then, Cesar replied the letter and\nwrote, ?I read your letter, and learned about your invitation. I knew a prophet\nwas going to ride; however, I thought that he would ride from Syria (2).?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
