The tenth leader of the Shiites, Imam\nHadi (PBUH) has said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“When\nMuhammad (PBUH&HP) gave up the business at Shaam and gave all the things\nAllah had bestowed upon him to the poor, he would climb into the cave of Haraa\neveryday and gaze at the traces of Allah\u2019s mercy. He would contemplate over the\nmarvels of Allah’s blessings and the novelties of His wisdom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He would set his eyes around the\nskies, the horizons of the earth, the seas, the valleys, the plains and the\ndeserts. He would learn lessons from observing all those signs of power and\nblessings of Allah; and from that entire scenery, he would remember the majesty\nof Allah, the creator. On this basis he would worship Allah with a great\ninsight. When he reached the age of forty, Allah took a look at his heart, and\nconsidered his heart as the best and softest hearts of all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
At that moment Allah ordered to open\nthe doors of the heavens. Muhammad (PBUH&HP) would gaze at the skies from\nthere. Allah then ordered the angels to descend. They obeyed and descended\nwhile Muhammad (PBUH&HP) was able to see them. And Allah showered His\nblessings and special attention from the abyss of the heavens upon the head and\nface of Muhammad (PBUH&HP). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
At that moment Muhammad (PBUH&HP)\ngazed at Gabriel who was surrounded by a halo of light. Gabriel came close,\nheld and shook his arm, and said: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018O Muhammad!\nRead!\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He asked: \u2018What shall I read?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gabriel replied:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018Read in the\nname of your Lord who has created this world and all the worlds. Has created\nman from a leech [Spermatozoa]. Read and your Lord is the most honorable, who\ntaught (to write) with the pen; taught man what he knew not.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The messenger of revelation had\naccomplished his mission, and thus returned back up to the heavens. The Prophet\nthen came down from the mountain. He fainted and fell ill with fever from\nhaving witnessed all that majesty and glory of the Lord, and from what he had\nperceived through revelation\u2026”(1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Muhammad (PBUH&HP) was appointed\nto the high position of a Prophet without really any materialistic ceremony. He\nturned back home with a gentle pace, wide sight and with extraordinary power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As soon as he entered the house a ray\nof light and a fine smell surrounded the house. Lady Khadijah (PBUH)\nasked:” What is this light?” The Prophet replied:” This is the\nlight of Prophethood. O Khadijah! Say There is no God except Allah and Muhammad\nis the Messenger of Allah.” Then the Prophet told her the story of his\nappointment, quoting Gabriel’s last words:” You are the Messenger of Allah\nfrom now on.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was many years ago that Lady\nKhadijah (PBUH) had recognized the light of Prophethood in the bright appearance\nof her beloved husband. She had realized many joyful secrets from the behavior\nand statements of the Prophet. Thus she said:” By God, it is a long time\nthat I have been waiting for this very day; and I was hoping that one day you\nwould become the Leader and the Messenger of these people.”(2) <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This way Muhammad ibn Abdullah\n(PBUH&HP), the most deserving man of Quraish, whose brilliant past with his\nfamous moral virtues were clear for all, was appointed to the Prophethood and\nthe Leadership of the people and became the seal of Prophethood in the cave of\nHara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
