Abu Hamzah narrates from Imam Baqir\n(PBUH), that Prophet Adam (PBUH) ordered Abel and Kane to make a sacrifice (1).\nAbel was an animal husbandman, and Kane was a farmer. Abel brought one of his\nbest bulls to the place of sacrifice, and Kane chose one cluster from the worst\nof what he had farmed. The sacrifice of Abel was accepted, and Kane\u2019s was not.\n(2) God has told their story in the Holy Quran that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAnd recite to them the story of the two sons of Adam in truth; when\neach offered a sacrifice (to Allah), it was accepted from the one but not from\nthe other \u2026\u201d (3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then the Satan told Kane, \u201cAbel\u2019s\nsacrifice was accepted, but yours was not. If you let him alive, in the future\nhis descendants will brag your descendants. So Kane killed Abel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When Kane returned to Prophet Adam\n(PBUH), Prophet Adam (PBUH) asked him, \u201cWhere is Abel?\u201d Kane replied, \u201cI don\u2019t\nknow! You hadn\u2019t sent me for his protection!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prophet Adam (PBUH) went to search for\nAbel, and found his corpse, and cried for him for forty nights. Then Adam\n(PBUH) asked God to grant him a son. A son was born for him, and he called him\nHibbat Allah (the gift of God). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prophet Adam (PBUH) liked him very\nmuch. When the time of his prophethood came to an end, God revealed to him, \u201dO\nAdam! The time of your prophethood came to an end, and your time is passed.\nNow, the knowledge that is consigned to you, with faith, the Great Name, and\nthe inheritance of the prophethood must remain with your descendants. Give them\nto your son Hibbat Allah \u2026\u201c(4)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When Habbat Allah buried Adam, Kane\ncame to him and said, \u201cI saw that Adam granted his knowledge to you, and not to\nme. And this was the knowledge that your brother Abel prayed with it so his\nsacrifice was accepted. I killed him to prevent him from having a descendant to\nboast my descendants saying that we are the sons of the one whose sacrifice was\naccepted, and you are the sons of the one whose sacrifice was not accepted \u2026\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The story of the sons of Adam (PBUH)\ncontains precious lessons for us. Usually in life, we are compelled to\nsacrifice our belongings for the sake of our more valuable things; however,\nsometimes we sink into routine daily life to the extent that we forget our\nprecious things. At a time our best time and wealth were devoted to our\nBeloved, but now we have either changed our beloved or our values\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
