Eid is a term for going back and\nreturn. It is given this name to mark returning from grief to happiness. It is\na day when everyone is happy. A day has been marked as Eid to mark that on this\nday man arrives at Allah\u2019s (SWT) promise. It is on such a day that people\nreturn to Allah (SWT) through asking repentance and praying, and Allah (SWT)\nbestows abundant blessings upon the people and His faithful slaves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Along similar lines Prophet Muhammad\n(PBUH&HP) has said,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAs the night of\nEid al-Fitr approaches, the night is called award night. Upon the dawn of Eid\nal-Fitr Allah (SWT) descends his angels to all grounds. They descend upon the\nearth and stand at the gateways of the streets and paths, and with a voice that\nall creatures except man and Jin can hear they say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018O nation of\nMuhammad (PBUH&HP)! Go towards your Merciful Lord in order to perform Salaat\n(prayer), as Allah the Merciful will forgive huge sins and bestow great\nblessings.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And as people gather in the place\nwhere Salaat al-Eid will be performed, Allah (SWT) tells his angels, \u2018My\nAngels! How shall one pay his worker who has done work?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They reply, \u2018O Lord, it must be paid\nin full.\u2019 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Allah says: \u2018I have you as witness\nthat I will reward my servant\u2019s fasting and praying in the Month of Ramadan\nwith My satisfaction and forgiveness upon them.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And Allah (SWT) addresses His\nservants: \u2018My servants! Request from Me anything you wish, for I swear by My\ngreatness and glory that in this gathering of yours, I will grant anything you\nwant in this world and the Hereafter. And I swear by My glory and majesty that\nas long as you are careful, I will hide your secrets, protect you, and will not\nreveal you. Return (to Me) as you have been forgiven. You have made Me content,\nand I am content with you.\u2019 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The angels become happy, and their\nfaces will glow and give glad tidings that on the day of Eid Allah (SWT) will\nbestow such immense blessings upon the community.\u201d(1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Indeed this is the reward of one month\ntrue obedience to Allah (SWT)\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
