Once on an Eid al-Fitr, Imam Hassan\n(PBUH) saw a man who had occupied his time with laughter and useless\nentertainment. At that Imam Hassan\n(PBUH) turned to his companions and said: \u201cAllah placed the holy month of\nRamadan for people so that they compete with each other in worship and\nobedience. In this competition, some excel, achieve unlimited blessings of\nAllah, and (therefore) win the competition. Whereas, others fall back, lose,\nand obtain nothing but loss. It is\nstriking that in such a day– in which the righteous and the hard workers will\nreceive great rewards and the culpable and one\u2019s who did not try their best\nwill see loss,– (that they) keep themselves busy with entertainment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the rituals done in this\nfestival is Salat al-Eid. In addition to the fact that prayer (Salat) is a sign\nof Allah\u2019s mercy and munificence, each Salat can strengthen the ties one has\nwith Allah (SWT). Certain prayers allow\none to gain specific blessings from Allah (SWT). Hence, one who has the chance to perform such\nprayers may reach to his\/her own needs in addition to forgiveness and special\ngifts from the almighty Allah. The prayer of Eid al-Fitr belongs to this\ncategory of prayers. On such an important Eid, one should be hopeful of Allah\u2019s\nmercy and forgiveness, rather than being hopeless because of his sins. Moreover, despite disgrace of any individual\nas a consequence of sins, one should seek Allah\u2019s compassion through His\nProphet, Imams (PBUT) and those who attained high ranks. Indeed, Allah (SWT)\nwill not turn His servants down and everyone will be able to gain profit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thus, one should perform the prayer\nwith special attention and a hopeful heart toward Allah\u2019s mercy and kindness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
