During the lifetime of Allameh Bahrol\nOloom1 areas of the tomb of Abu Fazel Abbas (PBUH) required repair and\nrenovations. Allameh Bahrol Oloom was\ninformed of the matter, and set a date to visit the tomb with an architect to\nidentify the amount of repair required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The day arrived, and Allameh and the\narchitect entered the Sardab2 and observed the foundations of the Holy Shrine\nfrom up close. When the architect\nobserved the tomb of Abbas (PBUH), he asked, \u201cSir, may I ask a question?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Allameh: \u201cDo ask.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Architect: \u201cWe had heard and read that\nAbbas (PBUH) had a tall posture, such that whenever he mounted his horse, his\nknees would be by the horse\u2019s ears.3 Therefore, the length of his tomb should\nbe longer, but what I see here is a very small grave! Did I understand\nincorrectly? Or is there another reason for the size of the grave?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Allameh Bahrol Oloom cried greatly\nafter hearing the architect\u2019s question. \nHe did not respond, and instead leaned his head to the wall and cried\nintensely. After a while the architect,\nnow worried asked, \u201cSir, why are you crying? Did I say anything wrong?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Allameh said, \u201cYou have heard\ncorrectly. Abbas (PBUH) was tall! But\nyour question reminded me of the calamity that befell him. On the day of Ashura, the body of Abbas was\nwounded to such an extent from all the sword and spear injuries, tearing his\nbody into many pieces!4 How can you\nexpect a ripped apart body, which was gathered and buried by Imam Sajjad\n(PBUH), to have a tomb larger than this?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
