The ambitions of a human are directly\nrelated to his spirit, and are clear indications of his internal world. This is\nso important that one of the ways to know a person is to know his ambitions.\nGood or bad wishes declare the high or low status of a person respectively.\nConsequently the real ambitions of a person are originated from and affected by\nhis character. On the other hand, the ambitions of a person are effective in\nshaping his personality. In fact, it is possible to change the personality of\none by modifying his ambitions. But how could that be?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ambitions of a person make up his\nintentions for his actions and increase his determination. Therefore, one\u2019s\nambitions are effective in strengthening or weakening his determination. Also,\nit is one\u2019s determination that structures his personality and gives shape to\nit. Amir al-Mu\u2019minin (PBUH) has said in this regards, \u201dThe value of a person is\nas much as his ambitions (1)\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hence, the greater and higher one\u2019s\nambitions, the more determined he will be in doing big things. This influence\nis so much that even physical weakness can not be a burden against one\u2019s\nactions. Imam Sadiq (PBUH) has said, \u201dOne\u2019s body does not feel weak in doing\nwhat the mind is strongly determined to do (2)\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to the fact that one\u2019s\nambitions can directly affect his intentions and determination, they can\nincrease one\u2019s share of the Divine assistance; because one\u2019s share of the\nDivine assistance is proportional to his intentions. Amir al-Mu\u2019minin (PBUH)\nhas said, \u201dThe bestowments of Allah (SWT) will favor one as much as his\nintention (3)\u201d. So whoever has high intentions, Allah\u2019s (SWT) blessings towards\nhim will be more. And of course, if one\u2019s intentions and ambitions are aligned\nwith the will of Allah (SWT), Allah (SWT) will offer him the greatest of Divine\nassistances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) have taught\nus, one of the best and most beautiful wishes of a human being is the\nreappearance of Imam Mahdi (PBUH). If a person who is impatiently waiting for\nhis Master is asked about his greatest wish, the first thing he will definitely\nmention is the opportunity to witness the reappearance Imam Mahdi (PBUH) and\nbeing among his companions. A person whose heart is burnt by the love and\nwaiting for his Imam (PBUH) will not have wishes related to his intimates or\nrelatives; because he has no intimate one closer than his Imam (PBUH).\nTherefore, his biggest wish is about his most beloved one. In fact, all his\nother wishes will be considerable only after he gets to meet his beloved one.\nMoreover all his wishes will be for the sake of his beloved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thus, based on what has been said, the\nmore powerful this waiting for reappearance becomes for one, the more intense\nthis state would be. It could get to the extent that the wish for joining Imam\nMahdi (PBUH) and helping him could prevail one\u2019s existence and affect all his\nactions. In fact, all the personal ambitions of such a person would be\noutshined by this great wish; all he would aim for would be helping the Imam\n(PBUH). This great ambition would rejuvenate his life through remembrance and\nlove for his Imam (PBUH), and not only this love for the Imam (PBUH) would\nnever exit his heart, but also all his efforts would be towards this great\nambition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Consequently, the acquaintance and\ndevotion towards Imam Mahdi (PBUH) would increase for such a person, and this\nwould result in greater ambitions, or rather deepen the existing ambitions. In\nfact, his personality will become more complete through these ambitions. This\nmutual effect between one\u2019s ambitions and his personality would result in his\naccomplishment. And what accomplishment is better and more helpful than this\nand what can elevate a person so rapidly?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
