Imam Askari (PBUH) narrated that one\nday his father, Imam Hadi (PBUH), was informed that one of the Shiite Faqih (a\nperson who is expert in religious jurisprudence) entered a discussion with a\nNasebi (an enemy of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT)), defeated him, and brought disgrace on\nthat Nasebi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One day that Faqih came to visit Imam\nHadi (PBUH). There was a place reserved for him by the Imam at the top. When\nthe Jurist entered, the Imam guided him to the highest seat, and this was\nsomething strange for Bani Hashim and Alavian. The companions postponed\nreproaching the Imam for his act for a later time, but the elder of the Bani\nHashims asked, \u201cO son of the Messenger of Allah, do you prefer such an ordinary\nperson to the Bani Hashims and the descendants of Abutalib and Abbas?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imam Hadi (PBUH) replied, \u201cBe careful\nnot to fail just as those whom Allah speaks of as: ‘Have you not seen those who\nhave been given a portion of the Book of Allah? They are being invited to the\nBook of Allah so that it may judge between them, then a party of them turn away\nand withdraw.” (1) Then the Imam added, \u201cDo you accept the Book of Allah\nas the Judge?” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Hashemite replied, “Yes.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imam Hadi (PBUH) explained, \u201cAnd does\nnot Allah say in the Holy Quran: ‘O Believers! When you are told to make room\nin a meeting for others, do so \u2026 God will raise the position of the believers\nand of those who have received knowledge.'(2) So for the faithful He likes to raise\nthem above the unfaithful. Likewise He prefers to raise the knowledgeable\nbeliever above an ordinary believer. Then also tell me. Did Allah say, ‘I will\nraise the faithful and those who received knowledge, or did He say, ‘I will\nraise the aristocrats’? And does not Allah say, ‘Are those who know equal to\nthose who know not?”(3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imam continued, \u201cSo why should I not\nrespect this person, for Allah has respected him as well? The defeat he gave to\nthat Nasebi, with the logic that God taught him, is undoubtedly higher than any\nnobility.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yes. The value and rank of those who\ndefend Wilayat is accordingly that high for God and the Ahl al-Bayt\n(PBUT). So good for those who follow\nthis path!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
