Imam Hadi (PBUH) has said, \u201cTruly\nAllah has placed this world a place of testing and examination, and the\nhereafter a place of rewarding and punishment. And the examination of this\nworld leads to the reward in the hereafter, and the reward in the hereafter is\nthe result of the examination in this world.\u201d1<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imam Hadi (PBUH) has also said, \u201cThe\nworld is a marketplace in which some gain in it while others lose.\u201d2 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The difference between this world and\nthe hereafter is that this world is a place of cultivation and the hereafter is\na place of harvesting and reaping the crop. \nThe hereafter is not the prologue, it is the end result. It is like a day when students hear the\nresult of their exams. If a student asks\nto give the answer on the day of test results, he will hear the response that\nthe time of exam taking has passed, and it is now time for results. The prophets which now call people to good\naction and preparing for the hereafter, it is so they know that time is\nlimited, and the wise person would take advantage of this limited time on earth\nto develop the everlasting life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If however a person does not act\naccording to wisdom and instead passes time and doesn\u2019t obey Allah (SWT), and\nhas his soul taken away, then it is too late. \nIn that moment, no matter how much he begs to be returned to the world\nto do well, what he will hear is, \u201cIt is not possible.\u201d3 If an unripe fruit is\nseparated from the tree branch, it is impossible to attach it back on to retain\nits previous state of turning into a sweet fruit. Returning to the world is possible but the\ntruth is that the law of creation does not allow it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Indeed the period of man\u2019s existence\nis similar to a year of work. This world and the next is like one of two\nseasons. This world is the season of\nplanting and acting, and the hereafter is the season of harvesting the end\nresult and a time to receive punishment and reward for our actions. Delightfully put, Imam Hadi (PBUH) has said\nin a prayer, \u201cMay we be among the crowd who gain and receive the reward of the\nhereafter\u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
