After the martyrdom of Imam Ali ibn\nMusa al-Reza (PBUH), Ma\u2019moon moved his central power in Khurasan to Baghdad. He\nthen sent a letter to Imam Muhammad Taqi al-Jawad (PBUH) and summoned him\nrespectfully and honorably acknowledging his knowledge and superiority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The elders of the Abbasid Dynasty\nimmensely disagreed with this matter because the Imam was not only from the\nHashemi tribe, but he was also a child. \nMa\u2019moon however convinced the Abbasids through arranging a debate\nbetween the contemporary scholars and Imam Jawad (PBUH). He set up an enormous\ndebate session. After the Abbasids saw the Imam defeat all other scholars, they\nhad no other choice, but to agree with Ma\u2019moon suggestion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imam Jawad (PBUH) has explained the\npossibility of being a child and yet a representative of Allah (SWT) who\ndefends the religion of Allah (SWT) through the Holy Quran, and logical and\nscientific reasoning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ali ibn Asbat narrates: One day when\nthe child Imam Jawad (PBUH) was coming towards me, I deeply stared at him to\nmemorize his appearance. I wanted to describe him for my friends when I\nreturned to my town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imam Jawad (PBUH) interrupted my\nthoughts as he sat and said: \u201cAllah\u2019s \nrepresentative (Hujjat) in Imamat is similar to His representative in\nNubuwwat. Allah in Quran says: \u2018And We\ngave him the command for prophethood in childhood\u2019 (the Holy Quran, 19:12. He also says: \u2018When Yusuf attained his full\nmanhood, We gave him power and knowledge\u2019 (the Holy Quran, 12:22). Furthermore He says: \u2018And when he reached the\nage of full strength and attained forty years\u2019 (the Holy Quran, 46:15).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, he deserves to be offered wisdom\nin childhood, as he is in the age of forty.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
