Fear is an emotional response to a\nthreat or a danger. The reason why, as a child, we used to be scared of\ndarkness or insects was this feeling of danger. Even though this fear was\nunreasonable, we experienced it. Therefore, we can conclude that sometimes\nthese unrealistic emotions are responsible for getting us into fear and panic.\nHence, perhaps understanding and analyzing the situations properly are the keys\nto overcome fear and panic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Death is one of such realities which\nperhaps most of us are afraid of mentioning or thinking about. However, its\nreality is different\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Once a man asked Imam Jawad (PBUH),\n\u201dWhy do Muslims fear death?\u201d He replied, \u201dBecause they do not know it. If they\nknew death and were truly among the friends of Allah (SWT), they would love\ndeath and know that the Hereafter is better for them than this world\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then, the Imam (PBUH) said, \u201dWhy would\na child or crazy person refrain from having a medicine which purifies their\nbodies and removes their pain?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man replied, \u201dBecause they are\nunaware of its benefits\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then, Imam Jawad (PBUH) said, \u201dI swear\nto the One who rightfully appointed Muhammad (PBUH&HP) as a messenger,\nwhoever gets prepared for death the way he should, death is more beneficial to him\nthan medicine is to an ill person. Beware that if they know what blessings they\nwill get after death, they will seek death more than a knowledgeable and\nprovident person seeks medicine to cure illness and gain health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Indeed, if we look at death from this\nperspective, death for a believer is like calmness after a storm, a harbour in\nwhich the flooded ship of this world could cast anchor, and the sweet taste of\nmeeting with the beloved One. In fact, if a person\u2019s deeds are good and he is\nnot attached to the decayed ship of this world, will he ever fear this harbour\nof calmness?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
