Abu Saalt Hirawi was one of the close\ncompanions of Imam Reza (PBUH). He narrates that one day when he was with Imam,\nthe Imam started the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Almighty Allah (SWT) sent a\nrevelation to one of his messengers that, tomorrow morning eat the first thing\nyou see, hide the second, accept the third thing and run away from the last.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The messenger started to move next\nmorning; he saw a huge black mountain on his path. He stood and said: \u201cMy Lord\nasked me to eat this thing (while he was surprised from such order). My Lord\norders me only to what is within my ability\u201d. He started to move toward the\nmountain to eat it. The closer he got to the mountain, the smaller it became.\nHe got so close until the mountain had become the size of a spoonful; he ate it\nand the serving was more delicious than any other food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He then continued and found a pot of\ngold and said: \u201cMy Lord ordered me to hide this one\u201d. He dag a hole and put the\npot inside the hole; he then covered it well with soil and moved on. We he\nlooked back, he noticed that the pot of gold was on the ground and fully\nvisible. He said: \u201cI did what my Lord commanded me to do\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He moved on his path and saw a bird\nwhich was chased by an eagle. The bird started to fly around the messenger. He\nsaid to himself: \u201cMy Lord ordered me to accept this one.\u201d So he opened his\nsleeve and the bird entered his sleeve\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The messenger continued his path. He\nreached a stinking corps filled with worms. He said: \u201cMy Lord ordered me to run\naway from this one\u201d; and returned immediately from that scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He then had a dream in which he was told:\nYou performed what was ordered to you. Do you know what they were?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said: No.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was told: The Mountain was the\nsymbol of Anger. When one becomes angry, he is unable to see himself as the\nhugeness of anger rules and as a result he forgets about himself. But when one\nis patient and control his temper and think of his own value, he will find that\nanger to be easy to swallow like serving of food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The pot of gold was the symbol of good\ndeed, that when one hides it, Allah (SWT) demands to reveal it for the\nperformer; so that in addition to the reward of hereafter, Allah (SWT) beautify\nthe performer with that act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bird was the symbol of one who\ngives advice. You should always accept the advice and the person giving it to\nyou\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But the stinking corps was the symbol\nof gossips; always run away from it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
