Sometimes, in the ups and downs of our\ndaily lives, we forget important matters. Or in some other instances, some\nadvantages and blessings of Allah (SWT) are taken for granted so that we hardly\nthink about them, and we start to acknowledge them only when we miss them and\nwhen it\u2019s too late\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To whom do we truly owe our\naccomplishments? By simply looking back at the past, we realize that we owe\nmuch to people who we have forgotten. Those who with all the problems and\ndifficulties, and with the least expectance, have paved the way to our\nprogress, but we have rarely appreciated them. In general, it is indecent to be\nunthankful to anyone, nevertheless some specials are more important to not to\nbe forgotten even through all the problems and daily matters. Yes, they are our\nparents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the divine teachings regarding\nthe parents\u2019 respects and rights, the Ahl al- Bayt (PBUH) school has a subtle\nand profound look at the matter. For example, when we refer to the school of\nthe eighth Imam, Imam Ali Ibn Musa al-Reza (PBUH), he teaches as such,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cBe aware that\nthe right of the mother is of the most obligatory and necessary rights; because\nshe has carried you when she was pregnant of you in a condition that no one\nwould bother to hold. She has kept you with her life, and heart, and eyes, and\nears, and all her entity with full affection and willingness. Despite all the\ndiscomforts she carried you, an act which no one will tolerate. She was ready\nto stay hungry to keep you full. She was ready to be thirsty to keep you\nquenched. She was ready to be without proper cloth to keep you covered, and wait\nin the sunlight to keep you in the shadow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Therefore thanking the mother and\nbeing lenient to her should be in relative amount to her services. However, you\nare unable to compensate her smallest favor unless with the merci and help of\nGod, God has put her right aligned with His own right, and has said, \u2018And we\nenjoined on man to give thanks to Me and to your parents, unto Me is the final\ndestination.\u201d(1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also the father is highly respectable\nand deserves significant rights. Therefore Imam Reza (PBUH) says,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou must obey\nyour father, and be humble against him, and observe his dignity, praise and\ncompliment him, and speak softly in his presence as the father is the root and\norigin of the child. If there was not a father, there would not be a child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
O Children! With the power of God, use\nyour wealth, honor, and life to earn your fathers\u2019 satisfaction. I narrate you\nfrom the Prophet of Allah (PBUH&HP) that he said, \u2018You and your wealth\nbelong to your father. So sacrifice yourself and your wealth to your father.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
(O Children!) In\ntheir lifetime be kind and beneficent to your fathers, and after their death\npray for them, and remember them. Because it has been narrated from the\nMessenger of Allah (PBUH&HP) that, \u2018The one who does good to his father in\nhis lifetime, but forgets to pray for him after his death, God would name him\nrebellious and insubordinate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We hope that it may not happen that we\nget stuck by the hectic daily life. We hope that it may not happen that we\nforget our parents that have been our bridge to progress and success. We hope\nthat it may not happen that there is a father or a mother waiting for our\ncompassion. Now, on the auspicious occasion of birthday anniversary of the\nsymbol of love and care, let\u2019s visit our parents, and serve them wherever they\nare, and ask God to help us compensate their grace as much as we can. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
