The truthful Joseph is thrown into a\nwell; he is sent to jail. What has happened? Is he guilty of anything but being\nloved by his father, innocence, piety, and loyalty? The history repeats itself;\nthis time, Imam Kadhim (PBUH) is sent to jail. It is as if there has been no\nsin greater than faith, piety, truthfulness, and loving people throughout the\nhistory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But how could truthful men and\ntruthful thoughts be imprisoned!? Prison is a good place for the men of God, as\nlong as they are imprisoned due to a misconduct, crime, misbehavior, or\nwrongdoing. In some cases, a thief, a betrayer, or a murdered is imprisoned by\njustice. However, if a person is imprisoned due to his personality, greatness,\ntelling the truth, seeking the truth, or opposing oppression and cruelty, this\nis something to be proud of. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This type of imprisonment turns the\ncopper of one\u2019s essence into gold. Those who are imprisoned due to their\npersonality, greatness, and telling the truth become purer and more determined,\nand a virtue is added to their virtues. This is because the difficulties,\nconstraints, and tortures one suffers due to his humane and spiritual\npersonality are not causes of shame, but things to be proud of. In this\nregards, it is sufficient to look at the history. The history is full of\nhonorable imprisonments and slains. These difficulties are honorable not only\nfor those who suffer, but also for humanity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another point is that suffering such\ndifficulties and pressures means for further accomplishment, sanitization of\nthe soul, and purification of one\u2019s essence. In contrast, one of the things\nwhich weaken the spirits and corrupt the morale is pampering and coddling. Difficulties\nand problems exercise the sole, strengthen it, and purify and reinforce one\u2019s\nessence. Therefore, growth and accomplishment of human is not achieved except\nthrough facing difficulties and problems. Such difficulties are the causes\nwhich create heroes, produce ingenuity, and offer the world with great geniuses\nand huge movements. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That is why Imam Kadhim (PBUH) has\ntold to his Shiites, \u201dSave yourself from the wrath of Allah (SWT), and do not\nspeak the truth recklessly, even though it (apparently) causes your\ndestruction. Know that truth does not lead into your annihilation; rather it is\na saviour. Always let go of the untruth; even though it (apparently) saves you.\nUntruth is never a saviour, and it eventually leads into annihilation (1)\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Indeed, this is Imam Kadhim\u2019s (PBUH)\nguilt: freedom! The history repeats itself, but with a difference. Joseph was\nfreed from jail; however, Imam Kadhim (PBUH) was eventually poisoned and\nmartyred in jail by Aaron\u2019s agents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
