For sure the shocking statistics of\nglobal and social problems has drawn your attention to them. Mankind was always\nsearching for finding solutions for terrorism, violence, separation, murder,\nsuicide, family problem, discrimination, racisms, wars, and thousands of other\nproblems. But what is the main reason of these problems and what is the\nsolution? In order to review this issue, a short introduction is presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We deal with self-interest (Hubb\nal-Zat) and altruism (Hub al-Ghair). These two inborn desires have been\nimplemented in all people by the wise will of Allah (SWT). Both of these two\ndesires have a key role in ensuring prosperity and peace for mankind and should\nbe satisfied in a proper manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Self-interest is a common desire\nbetween humans and animals. This is the main reason for surviving and\nprotecting themself. This desire helps a human in determining useful thing and\nmakes him to achieve them. It will also help human in understanding harmful\nstuffs so that he will try to avoid them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Altruism is an exclusive\ncharacteristic of a human and is one of his valuable desires. Altruism is the\nmain reason of loving other people. This desire is a selfless concern for\nothers and makes life lovely. Reviving this spiritual desire makes people to\nlove each other. On the other hand, it will revive cooperation and empathy in\nthe society. (1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Self-interest, like other animal\ninstincts, is deeply rooted in human nature. This instinct quickly grows and\nbecomes strong and does not need any support or training. But altruism, like\nother great human desires, does not become strong without the training and\ncare. (2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A real altruist is a person who loves\nothers based on pure human emotions and their humanity. His love is free from\nselfishness and material interests. This love is a sign of mental excellence\nand purity of his sole and is an exclusive characteristic of a mankind. This\ntype of love distinguishes humans from animals. It also connects different\nsocieties and makes people to love each other. This love, avoid people from\nbrutality and savagery. Moreover, it makes people feel safe and make the world\na peaceful place and make life pleasant and lovely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this way, if we can love other\npeople consciously, we will enjoy prosperity in our life. This elixir which can\ncure every pain and sorrow has been prescribed by Devine Prophets since many\ncenturies ago. In the holy school of Islam, altruism and loving other people\nhas been considered comprehensively. The Holy Prophet (PBUH&HP) and the\nInfallible Imams (PBUT) counted this good temper as an important factor in\nmankind\u2019s prosperity and gaining Devine blessings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For example, Imam Musa ibn Ja’far\n(PBUH) said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPeople on the\nearth are under divine blessing while they love each other and return their\nloans and their behavior is based on the truth and right manner\u201c. (3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the holy school of Islam, a\nbeneficial life is only for those who develop self-interest and altruism\ntogether in the correct portion. They should pay attention to their own\nspiritual way and material needs. In the mean time they should guide others in\nthe right way and prepare their fortune and prosperity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This Devine prescription is for\nsolving mankind social and global problems and this is our turn to make our\ndecisions\u2026 Do we implement these Devine lessons and plans in our life? Do we\ntry to help others so that we make ourselves and others blessed in return? This\nis the time that we should choose our path in life with a little thought\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
