Abdullah al-Najashi is a famous person\nin history who was appointed by Mansour Abbasi as the governor of Ahwaz. He\nasked Imam Sadiq (PBUH) to teach him some instructions and advices to make him\ncloser to Allah (SWT) and the holy prophet (PBUH&HP). In response, Imam\nSadiq (PBUH) wrote him a letter that an excerpt is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c \u2026 Be aware\nthat your salvation would result from protecting people\u2019s lives, not harming\nthe friends of Allah (SWT), being kind towards people, behave sociable and\ngentle despite being powerful, showing leniency to the friends and the people\nwho needs you, eliminating the people\u2019s shortages and treating them in a fair\nmanner \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Do not fail to feed the hungry people\nand do not underestimate the reward of this action. My father narrated from the\nholy prophet: \u201cThe person who sleeps full while his neighbor is hungry, does\nnot truly believe in Allah (SWT) and the day of judgment\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fear Allah (SWT) so you do not\nfrighten any servants of Him, since my father has narrated from his father, Ali\nibn Abi Talib (PBUH): \u201cAnyone who looks at a believer with cruelty and violence\nand frighten him, Allah (SWT) will frighten him on the day of judgment on which\nthere would be no protector than Himself\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anyone who fulfills a single request\nof his believer brother, Allah (SWT) would comply many of his demands including\nthe paradise. Anyone who provides a believer with clothes and food, gives them\nride, or help them get married, Allah (SWT) would grant him heavenly clothing,\nfood, ride and partners \u2026 anyone who goes to his faithful brother\u2019s place to\nvisit, without demanding anything from him is counted as the pilgrim of Allah\nand Allah (SWT) has obligated Himself to honor His pilgrim\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Be careful not to follow up on\nbelievers\u2019 faults, otherwise Allah (SWT) would do the same to you. The minimum\nlevel of atheism is that a person hears something from his faithful brother and\nkeeps it in order to use it against him some day\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My father narrated from his fathers\nfrom Amir al-Mu\u2019minin (PBUH): \u201cThis verse of the holy Quran would be applicable\nto anyone who reveals anything against a faithful person that results in\ndishonoring him, even he has witnessed it by his own eyes and ears: \u201cIndeed\nthose who want indecency to spread among the faithful\u2014there is a painful\npunishment for them in the world and the Hereafter.\u201d(1) (2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Therefore, Imam Sadiq (PBUH) nicely\nadvised Najashi and in the meantime, provides us with what is necessary for a\ntrue Muslim to know on how to behave well with others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
