No one anticipated that one day their\nfriendship might break, and the two friends, who were usually together,\nseparate. People knew one of them as the friend of the other, rather than\nknowing him by his own name. Usually when they wanted to name him, his own name\nwas not mentioned, and they called him \u201cthe friend of Imam Sadigh (PBUH)\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One day they were together and they\nentered the shoemakers\u2019 market. His black servant was with him too, and was\nwalking behind them. In the middle of the market the friend of Imam Sadiq\n(PBUH) turned around, but did not see the servant. After taking a few steps, he\nonce again turned around, but didn\u2019t see the servant. For the third time he\nturned around; the servant was amused with the market and was not there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the fourth time, he turned around\nand saw him; he then swore at his mother angrily, and asked: \u201cwhere have you\nbeen?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After hearing this word, Imam Sadigh\n(PBUH) hit his forehead out of surprise, and said: \u201cSubhan Allah! Did you swear\nat his mother? Do you accuse his mother of wrong actions? So far, I thought\nthat you are a pious person. Now it is evident that there is no piety and\napprehension in you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man said hurriedly: \u201cO son of the\nProphet of God! This servant and his mother are both from the city of Sindh.\nYou know that the people from Sindh are not Muslims. His mother was not a\nMuslim either.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imam Sadigh (PBUH) said: \u201cit doesn\u2019t\nmatter whether his mother had been a Muslim or not. Every tribe has a tradition\nand law for marriage. If they observe their tradition and law their children\nwould be legitimate.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After saying this, Imam (PBUH) said:\n\u201cNow, leave me\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After this event, no one saw him with\nImam (PBUH) anymore; until death separated them. (1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But why really did Imam Sadigh (PBUH)\nended his friendship with this man? The answer can be found in one of the\nsayings of Imam (PBUH):<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOne of the\ndefinite signs of the partaker of the Satan is using of bad language and not\ncaring what one says and hears.\u201d(2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Therefore the person who uses bad\nlanguage has accepted the friendship of the Satan, and friendship with this\nperson is not suitable for a faithful person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let us be careful not become the\nfriend of Satan\u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
