Ibrahim Adham narrates that: \u201cI was\ntraveling in the desert with a caravan. I decided to make a short expedition\nalone, and I separated from the caravan. Then I suddenly came across a kid that\nwas walking. I said Subhan Allah! In a dry desert like this, a kid walking\nthere?! Then I approached him and greeted, and the kid replied me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I asked: \u201cWhere are you going?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said: \u201cTo the house of the Creator.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I told him: \u201cDear kid, you are too\nyoung; going to the house of the Creator is neither obligatory or is part of\nthe tradition (Sunnah) for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said: \u201cO, old man. Haven’t you ever\nseen one being smaller than me and die?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I asked: \u201cWhere are your supply and\nyour horse?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He answered: \u201cMy supply is piety, my\nhorse is my feet and my destination is my Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I said: \u201cI don\u2019t see any food with you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said: \u201cO, old man, is it suitable\nif someone invites you and you take your meal with yourself?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I said: \u201cNo.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said: \u201cThe one who has called me\nwill make me fulfilled.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I said: \u201cCome and get a ride to not to\nmiss the Hajj.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said: \u201cMy duty is to make my try,\nand reaching to the destination is in His hands. Haven\u2019t you heard And those who strive for Us, We will\ncertainly guide them to our Paths, for verily Allah is with the\nrighteous.”(1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He says while I was wondering suddenly\na fair faced youth appeared with a fine white garment, and embraced the kid and\nhailed to him. I went toward the youth and asked: \u201cBy the God who has created\nyou so beautiful, tell me who is this kid?\u201d He answered: \u201cDon\u2019t you know him?\nHe is Ali bin Husssain bin Ali bin Abi Talib (PBUT).\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then I left the youth to the kid and\nasked: \u201cI swear to your fathers, that who is this youth?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said: \u201cDon\u2019t you know him? He is my\nbrother Khidr (2) who visits us and hails us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I asked: \u201cBy the right of your\nfathers, don\u2019t you tell me that how you travel in this desert without supply\nand ration?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He answered: \u201cI travel with 4 supplies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I said: \u201cWhat are they?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said: \u201cI regard this entire vast\nworld the realm of the Lord and regard all the creatures his servants and their\nsustenance are with Him; I understand that each cause and sustenance is in His\nhands, and see his will performed all over the earth. (3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I admitted: \u201cO, Zain al-Aabedin, What\na fine supply you have. With this supply you can pass from the pathways of the\nafterworld; and evidently you can pass the worldly ones too! (4<\/p>\n\n\n\n
