The martyrs of Karbala entered the\nbattlefield with the goal to defend Imam Hussain (PBUH) and fight the enemy in\nsome manner. As an example, Abdullah Ibn Hassan, the young child of Imam Hassan\n(PBUH) runs out of the tents to defend his uncle in the last moments. He aims to block the strike of a sword on his\nuncle using his hands, only moments before being killed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But the one martyr who had no chance\nto fight back, not that he did not want to fight, but that he simply did not\nhave the ability to fight, was only in the battlefield with the hope to receive\nsome water\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imam Hussain (PBUH) looked\naround. His companions and the men of\nhis family members had all been martyred. \nHe prepared to enter the battlefield by himself, loudly saying,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIs there anyone\nto defend the household of the Prophet of Allah? Is there anyone who fears\nAllah about us [the Prophet\u2019s Progeny]? Is there anyone (to answer my call for\nhelp) for that which is for Allah? Is there anyone to assist us (for the sake\nof Allah)?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Having heard the voice of Imam Hussain\n(PBUH), his household began to cry loudly. His sister, Lady Zeinab (PBUH) came\nout of the tent and pointed to the six month old son of the Imam, saying:\n\u201cBrother! Your son needs water; bring some water for this little infant.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imam Hussain (PBUH) took the baby onto\nthe battlefield, held him high, and said, \u201cO People! You have killed my\nfollowers and members of my family; this infant is the only one left who opens\nand closes his mouth from thirst. You\ncan remove his thirst by just a bit of water.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The words of the Imam had not yet ended,\nonly for him to see the strike of an arrow sent by the enemy upon the throat of\nhis infant, decapitating him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imam Hussain (PBUH) told Lady Zeinab\n(PBUH): \u201cHold this child.\u201d He then placed his two hands under the throat of the\ninfant, his two hands were filled with blood. \nHe scattered the blood into the sky, saying: \u201cThe sadness of this\ntragedy has become easy upon me for my Lord is witness (of it all).\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imam Baqir (PBUH) said: \u201cNot one drop\nof that blood fell to the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This was the story of the only martyr\nin Karbala who died in the most defenseless and oppressed manner. This ends the\nsaddest story of Ali Asghar, the infant of Hussain (PBUH).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
