Ibn Abi al-Hadid1, one of the Sunni\nscholars, describes Imam Hossein (PBUH) as such: \u201cthe master and leader of the\npeople who have not accepted indignity, the one who taught people magnanimity\nand choosing death under the shadows of the swords in preference to submission.\nAbi \u2018Abdullah, Hossein bin Ali bin Abi-Taleb, the one whom was given a chance\nand to his comanions; but he turned away from humiliation of not being killed\nby Ibn Ziad, preferring death over humiliation\u2026\u201d2<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now the last moments of the teacher of\nspiritual freedom, dignity and submission to the humanity has arrived. Now, the\nMaster of the Martyrs (PBUH) has no company. His companions are killed and\neveryone taking part in the battle from the \u201cBani Hashem\u201d tribe is martyred.\nNow, with the eye of our hearts, and with depending on valid historical sources\nwe go over the battle:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We should look at Imam Hossein (PBUH)\nand his situation and activities during the battle\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We must observe continuously; it is\nthe time when the situation has gone dire…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I looked at Hossein (PBUH); he had\nmounted the horse. The army had surrendered him and had reached close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I took another look. I did not see him\non his horse; seemingly he has fallen over…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Do you know why his soil is regarded\nas the best soil? Because on this soil there has been a prostration that is\nunique among any other prostrations from the first beings until the\nresurrection. Hossein\u2019s (PBUH) prostration on the hot soil was not on the forehead,\nbut instead on the foreface\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Do you know when did that prostration\nhappen? When -according to the narrator-: \u201cthe arrows and swords had injured\nhis body, Saleh bin wahab al-Mazni hit a spear on his side. Then Hossein (PBUH)\nfell on his right side on the ground while saying \u201cBism Illah, wa billah, wa\nala millate rasoul ollah\u2026\u201d (in the name of Allah, by [will of] Allah, and upon\nthe nation of the Prophet of Allah).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was looking further. But why\nsuddenly the sky turned dark?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Oh, alas\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I saw something ascending in the sky,\nbut it did not go far. It seemed that a head is on the spears. When I looked\ncloser I saw that it was the head of Hossein bin Ali (PBUH) on the spear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYou, the clamed\nspirit, return to your creator while you are pleased and He is pleased at you,\nso enter the group of my devotees, and enter my paradise.\u201d3<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We belong to Allah, and we will return\nto him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
