And then Hussain (PBUH) called upon\nthe enemies to fight him and said,\u201d Martyrdom is better than getting\nhumiliated, and humiliation is better than entering the Hellfire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the narrators says,\u201d I had never\nseen a man who had lost his children and companions and had suffered so much\npain and difficulty, but still entered the battlefield with courage and\nchallenge the enemies. It got to a level that the enemies attacked him as a\ngroup, but he fought them back with his sword and the enemies ran away like a\nflock of animals\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imam Hussain (PBUH) at times attacked\nthe condensed lines of the thirty thousand army of enemies, destroyed them, and\nmade them scattered. Then he returned to his place and said,\u201d There is no power\nand strength except with Allah, the Exalted and Great\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The narrator says,\u201d Imam Hussain\n(PBUH) used to fight continuously until the enemies separated between him and\nhis family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imam Hussain (PBUH) called upon them\nand said,\u201d Vow on to you, O followers of the family of Abi Sufyan! If you do\nnot have a religion or do not fear the Hereafter, at least be free men in this\nworld\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shimr said,\u201d What are you saying, O\nson of Fatimah?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imam Hussain (PBUH) replied,\u201d What I\nam saying is that I am fighting you and you are fighting me; but the women have\nno sin, so stop your dissolute, rebellious, ignorant men from attacking my\nfamily as long as I am alive\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shimr said,\u201d You deserve this\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When Hussain (PBUH) got so many\nwounds, Salih bin wahab hit him strongly with his sphere, and Hussain (PBUH)\nfell down from his horse on his right cheek; while he was saying,\u201d In the name\nof Allah, by Allah, and on the path of the Messenger of Allah\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shimr screamed,\u201d What are you waiting\nfor about this man?\u201d So the army attacked him from every direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hilal ibn Nafi says,\u201d I was with the\narmy of Umar ibn Sa\u2019ad when someone called,\u2019 Glad tidings O commander! This is\nShimr who has killed Hussain\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He says,\u201d I stood besides Hussain\n(PBUH) in between the lines of the army as he was in his last moments. I swear\nto God that I had never seen a person covered in his own blood whose face was\nmore beautiful and shining than Hussain. His beauty and his shining face\nstopped me from thinking about his killing\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After Imam Hussain (PBUH) was\nmartyred, according to the narrator,\u201d The enemies preceded one another in\nlooting the tents of the family of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH&HP); it got\nto a level that they took away the cover on the shoulders of the women. At this\npoint, daughters of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH&HP) came out while they\nwere crying and mourning over the loss of their loved ones\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The narrator continues,\u201d Then they\ntook the looted, barefoot women out of the tents as captives and put the tents\non fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The women said,\u201d We ask you by Allah\nto take us to where Hussain (PBUH) was killed\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the women saw the dead bodies,\nthey screamed and scratched their faces\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then he says,\u201d I swear to God that I\nwill never forget that Zainab (PBUH), daughter of Ali (PBUH) , was mourning\nover Hussain (PBUH) , and she recited with a sad voice:\u201d O Muhammad\u2026\u201d\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
