Islam has considered a method of\ngreeting when people approach each other, and that is the word Salam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amongst all the slogans that people\nand communities have with each other, the word Salam can be said to be the most\nmeaningful. What truly is better that to\ngreet another person with Silm, saying Silm be upon you, meaning may peace,\nfriendship, health, and joy be upon you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Islam is the religion of joy, peace\nand goodness. It is the religion of\nbrotherhood. When we say Salam upon\nseeing another Muslim, we are saying I am your brother, you are my brother, and\nI pray and wish for your health and happiness. \nAnd by health, it is referring to spiritual, social, physical, mental,\nand various other health. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are those who begin speaking\nwithout the utterance of Salam. Once,\nImam Hussein (PBUH) was approached by a man who started speaking without saying\nSalam. The Imam responded with, \u201cSalam\nprecedes all speech. May God give you\nhealth.\u201d1<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imam Hussein (PBUH) has also said, \u201cHe\nwho refuses to give Salam is a miser.\u201d2<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It has also been said that he who says\nSalam first has done a more valuable task. \nIn this regards, the Imam has said, \u201cSaying Salam has 70 rewards and\nblessings, in which 69 of those belongs to the person who said Salam first, and\nthe other one belongs to the person who responds.\u201d3, 4<\/p>\n\n\n\n
