Upon his arrival at the city of\nMedina, he started asking people, \u201dWho is the most generous one in this city?\nWhere does he live?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Everyone referred him towards the\nhouse of Imam Hussain (PBUH).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man found Imam Hussain (PBUH)\npraying in the mosque. He stood in front of the Imam (PBUH) and addressed him\nby saying the following poem:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-Whoever has\nhope in you and whoever knocks on your door will not be disappointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– You are\nextremely generous and trustworthy. You are the person whose father fought the\ncorrupt people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– We would have\nbeen caught by hellfire without your great family and ancestors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He recited his poems. Imam Hussain\n(PBUH) greeted him, and then asked Qanbar,\u201d Is there anything left for us from\nthe properties of Hijaz?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Qanbar replied, \u201dYes; four thousand\nDinars are left\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imam Hussain (PBUH) said,\u201dBring them.\nA person is here who deserves them more than us\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then, Imam Hussain (PBUH) took out his\ncover and wrapped the money in it. Then, out of shame from the man, he extended\nhis hand out of the door and gave the money to the man while reciting these\nlines of poetry:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– Take it! And I\napologize from you (because I have given you so little), and know that I am\nkind and compassionate towards you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– If our right\nwas given to us, the rain of blessing and generosity would have been fallen on\nyou from our heaven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
– But what can\nbe done when the events change the situation, and what I have now is little.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The narrator says that the man took\nthe money, but it did not take long that he started crying with a loud voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imam Hussain (PBUH) asked him, \u201dDid\nyou find my grant insignificant?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man replied, \u201dThat was not a\nlittle money. I am wondering how such generous hands will be buried one day\u201d.(1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
