The problem of the ethics is among the\nimportant topics that have been dealt with by Islamic or non-Islamic scientists.\nA part of ethics deals with the ethical virtues that include acts which are\nregarded highlighted and excellent. Some behaviors are regarded normal and\ncommon for everyone. For example, when someone does you a favor, you will do\nhim a favor in return, and that is very typical. However, if someone shows the\nability to control himself, and restrain his emotions to an extent to which he\ncan do goodness and kindness against an unjust action that would be regarded as\nremarkable. Few people can be as such. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a narration from the Great Prophet\nof Islam, the ethical virtue has been interpreted as the following: \u201cO Ali,\nthree things are among the ethical virtues: show generosity toward that who has\ndeprived you, keep contact with the one who has cut ties with you, and forgive\nthe one who has been unjust against you.\u201d1, 2<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The lives of the infallible Imams\n(PBUT) have been full of ethical virtues. An example of them is narrated in the\nlife of Imam Hassan (PBUH): Imam Hassan (PBUH) was sitting at the door of his house\nin Kufah. A dessert dweller Arab came and spoke rudely with Imam, and used bad\nwords against him and his parents. Imam called his servant and told him to\nbring him a pocket of coins. Imam (PBUH) gave it to the Arab and said:\napologize me for I did not have any more to give you. When the Arab heard this\nhe said: \u201cI testify that you are truly the son of the Prophet of Allah. I\nwanted to examine your patience and forbearance.\u201d3<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Attaining to such level of ethical\nvirtue takes a great heart and a high spirit that comes about by self-training,\nclearing the soul from egoism and arrogance, and actualizing the divine\nteachings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
