Junadah ibn Abi Umayyah says: I went\nto visit Imam Hassan (PBUH) during the illness that led to his death. There was\na tub in front of him so that he could heave the effects of the poison\nMu\u2019awyiah had infected him with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Junadah says: \u201dI said to him, \u2019O son\nof the Messenger of Allah! Advise me!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Imam Hassan replied, \u201dBe prepared for\nyour traveling to the Hereafter, and keep ready your necessity for this trip\nbefore your death comes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Know that you are after this world,\nand death is after you. Do not worry about the day that has not come yet today.\nKnow that you will not gain more than your specified sustenance unless you are\nkeeping it for someone else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And know that (on the Day of Judgment)\nyou shall be questioned and made responsible for what you gained lawfully in\nthis world; and you shall be punished for what you gained unlawfully; and you\nshall be condemned and reproached for what you gained questionably. So treat\nthis world as a corpse (that you would use only upon necessity), and take from\nit only as much as you need (1). \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Work for this world as if you were to\nlive forever (so if one of your worldly affairs is delayed, you will have time\nto do it later) (2); and work for the Hereafter as if you will die tomorrow\n(you do not have much time left). And if you are looking for glory not from\nyour lineage, and if you are seeking greatness and awe without being the king,\nthen rescue yourself from the disgrace and abjectness of disobeying Allah (SWT)\nto the glory and greatness of His obedience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you had no option but to befriend\npeople, make friend with someone who:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 His companionship\nbeautifies you and makes you proud (rather than ashamed)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 Protects you\nwhenever you do him a favor<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 Offers you help\nwhenever you ask for it<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 Helps you in case\nyou extended your hand towards him<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 Resolves the\nproblem if you failed in a matter<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 Takes into\naccount your good deeds<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 Acts in case you\ndecide to remain silent<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 Accompanies you\nwhenever a difficulty and calamity falls upon you<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 Does not cause\nyou any harm or trouble<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 Does not leave\nyou alone in the realities<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u00b7 Prefers you over\nhimself if you disputed over dividing properties.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Junadah continues:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then his color turned so yellow that I\nfeared for his life. At that moment, Imam Hussain (PBUH) entered the room,\nhugged Imam Hassan (PBUH), and kissed his head and between his eyes. Then, he\nsat beside his brother and they talked to each other privately. Imam Hassan\n(PBUH) made Imam Hussain (PBUH) his heir; he was martyred at the age of 47, and\nwas buried in Baqi cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
