The entire period of the short life of\nLady Fatimah (PBUH) after the demise of her father (PBUH&HP) was spent in\nconfronting the ruling government and opposing their hostile actions. During\nthis period, Lady Fatimah (PBUH) used every means she had for this purpose.\nWhenever possible, she expressed her objection, and if the condition was\nsuitable she delivered sermons; one day she publicly declared her opposition,\nand the other day she refused to meet with the rulers; eventually, her will was\nnot to allow the rulers to participate in her funeral or pray on her body.\nFinally, by ordering to be buried secretly (and hiding her grave), she engrave\nan eternal sign of illegitimacy on the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On one of the last days of the life of\nLady Fatimah (PBUH), she sent Umm Ayman after Amir al-Mu\u2019minin (PBUH). When\nAmir al-Mu\u2019minin (PBUH) got to the bed of Lady Fatimah (PBUH), she said to him,\n\u201dO my cousin! I have been informed that my death is near, and I may join my\nfather any moment. So I want to express whatever is in my heart, and tell you\nmy will\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amir al-Mu\u2019minin (PBUH) replied,\n\u201dAnything you will\u201d. Then he sat close to the head of Lady Fatimah (PBUH) and\nordered everyone else to leave the room. Then, Lady Fatimah (PBUH) started\ntalking and said, \u201dO my cousin! You never found me lying or betraying in life,\nand I have never opposed you!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amir al-Mu\u2019minin (PBUH) said, \u201dI seek\nrefuge with Allah (SWT)! You are more God-knowing, righteous, pious, and\nGod-fearing than I can attribute any unfaithfulness to you or blame you or\nblame you for disobeying me!\u201d Then he continued, \u201dLosing you will be extremely\nintense and difficult on me. But what can I do; this is an event which does not\nhave a solution. I swear to Allah (SWT) that by leaving me, you will renew the\ntragedy of losing the Messenger of Allah (PBUH&HP) for me. Indeed, losing\nyou will be very intense on me. \u201cTo Allah we belong, and to Him we shall\nreturn\u201d, this tragedy is extremely immense and painful. This is a tragedy that\ndoes not have a consolation or remedy\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then they both cried for a while.\nAfter that Amir al-Mu\u2019minin (PBUH) said, \u201dSay whatever wills you have. I will\ndo whatever you order me, and I will prefer your wishes over mine\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At this moment, Lady Fatimah (PBUH)\nsaid,\u201d May Allah (SWT) reward you\u201d. Then she said her wills, including matters\nregarding her funeral and coffin. After that, she said,\u201d My will to you is that\ndo not let those who oppressed me and usurped my rights to participate in my\nfuneral. They are my enemies and the enemies of the Messenger of Allah\n(PBUH&HP). Do not let anyone of them or their friends pray on my body!\u201d\nThen she added,\u201d Perform my funeral at night when people are asleep\u201d (1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And this will was the last link of\nLady Fatimah\u2019s (PBUH) chain of opposition against that situation. She made\nsimilar wills in different forms and occasions; however, the main point of all\nwas opposition against the government of the Caliphs. This was the last arrow\nLady Fatimah (PBUH) had, and she threw it at the end of her life. The\ndifference between this link and the rest was that it became eternal, and it\nturned to a cause of shame for the history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
