Once, during the reign of Ali (PBUH)\nin Kufah, his armor was lost. After a while it was found at the possession of a\nChristian man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amir al-Mu’minin (PBUH), who was the\nruler of the society, took the Christian to the judge and claimed the armor. He\nsaid: \u201cThis armor is mine; I have neither sold it, nor that I have given it as\na present. And now I have found it at the hands of this man.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The judge said to the Christian man:\n\u201cThe caliph asserted his claim. What is your word?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Christian man replied: \u201cThis armor\nis mine. At the same time I don\u2019t deny the claim of the caliph (he might have\nmade a mistake).\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The judge turned to Ali (PBUH) and\nsaid: \u201cYou are the complainant, and this man denies the claim. Now, it is you\nwho should bring a witness.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amir al-Mu’minin (PBUH) smiled and\nsaid: \u201cThe judge is right. It is me who should bring a witness. I don\u2019t have a\nwitness, however.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The judge, based on the fact that\nthere is no witness, passed judgment in favor of the Christian man, and he took\nthe armor, and started to leave. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Christian man, knowing better than\nanyone else that to whom that armor belonged to, after taking a few steps\nreturned to his conscience saying: \u201cthis is not like the ordinary and human\nkind of statecraft, and looks like the prophets\u2019.\u201d Therefore he admitted that\nthe owner of the armor is Ali (PBUH).\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After a while he was seen converting\nto Islam, and was fighting faithfully under the banner of Amir al-Mu’minin\n(PBUH) in the Nahravan battle.(1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
