Prophet\nMuhammad (PBUH&HP) is known as the clarifier the Book of Allah (SWT). His\nexplanations, behavior, sayings, and as whole his life clarify the concepts of\nthe verses of the Holy Quran. Today is the anniversary of one of the most\ngrieving events of the history. On these days our kind Prophet was sick at bed\nand finally passed away. The major question is whether his valuable divine\nknowledge was buried with him in his mosque or not? Who is responsible for\nanswering the people\u2019s questions and arguments about the Holy Quran after the\ndemise of the Prophet? Did the Prophet let his Ummah alone after him?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As\nwe might be aware, the fundamental of religion and the origin of the Islamic\nrituals are mentioned in the Holy Quran. The interpretation and detailed\naccount of the Holy Quran is with the Prophet and the early teachers of Islam.\nProphet Muhammad (PBUH&HP) would convey all that was revealed to him and\nthat which humanity would need until the Day of Judgment, to his cousin Imam\nAli (PBUH), who would then convey the same to the Imams after him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nrevelations of Allah (SWT) to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH&HP) can be divided\ninto two categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nfirst category consists of matters appropriate for the present day of the\nProphet. These matters were conveyed to\nthe people by the Prophet himself, without a mediator. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nsecond category consisted of matters related to after the demise of the\nProphet. These were issues Prophet Muhammad (PBUH&HP) conveyed only to Imam\nAli (PBUH). Imam Ali (PBUH) would then write these two categories with his own\nhandwriting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And\nthis manner continued until the time of separation of the Prophet from his\nUmmah and farewell of his successor with him arrived. In the final hours of\nProphet Muhammad\u2019s (PBUH&HP) life, the Prophet conveyed the final critical\ndivine teachings to Imam Ali (PBUH) in an important and exclusive session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Umm\nSalamah narrates the story:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2018By Allah! Ali was the final person who\ncommunicated with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH&HP). One morning we visited the\nProphet in his sickbed. He would repeatedly ask, \u201cDid Ali come? Did Ali come?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lady\nFatimah (PBUH) said, \u201cIt seems you had sent him on a task?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A\nwhile later Ali (PBUH) returned. I understood the Prophet wanted to speak with\nAli (PBUH), so I left the room with the others and sat outside the room. I was\ncloser to the room than the rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nProphet (PBUH&HP) called Ali (PBUH) close to himself and began to whisper\nand talk to Ali (PBUH). We could not recognize what the Prophet (PBUH&HP)\nwas telling Ali (PBUH). The Prophet passed away after on this same day. And so\nthe final person who conversed with the Prophet (PBUH&HP) was Ali (PBUH).\u2019\n(1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let\nus now turn to the report of Imam Ali (PBUH) about that day and that session:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nMessenger of Allah (PBUH&HP) in his final hours of sickness said, \u201cTell my\nbrother come to me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then\nhe told me, \u201cCome closer to me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI went close to him. He leaned on me and\nbegan talking to me until he passed away beside me\u2026\u201d (2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prophet\nMuhammad (PBUH&HP) conveyed all knowledge and Islamic teachings to Imam Ali\n(PBUH). Imam Ali (PBUH) recorded the material in a book to be passed on to his\nsons as written proof. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The\nconcerns Prophet Muhammad (PBUH&HP) showed in his final hours to convey the\ntreasures of divine knowledge to the true leaders of Islam and interpreters of\nthe Holy Quran show his effort in maintaining the religion and protecting the\nIslamic Ummah. And with this note, the period of preaching the teachings of\nIslam begins in the time of the life of the Holy Prophet and the Infallible\nImams are responsible for continuing this great task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
