Being thankful and having appreciation\nof one who offers good is praised so much that the Holy Quran addresses\n\u201cShakir\u201d and \u201cShakour\u201d among the holy name of Allah (SWT) and additionally\nsays: \u201cAllah will reward the thankful\u201d1<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prophet Mohammad (PBUH&HP) was a\ntrue practitioner of this verse and always said: \u201cOne who does not thank people\n<\/p>\n\n\n
[for their good]<\/p>\n\n\n\n
has not thanked Allah (SWT).\u201d2\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Historians have written that the\nMessenger of Allah (PBUH&HP) lived with Bani Sa\u2019d tribe until the age five\nand after that Halimah returned the Prophet to his mother Amina; the Messenger\nof Allah remain appreciative of Halimah and her children throughout his life\nand often would recall memories of his childhood3. It has been narrated that\nafter the great Prophet (PBUH&HP) marriage with Khadija, Halimah came to\nMecca; she complain about the drought in her area and drastic loss of\nlivestock. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH&HP) shared the matter with Lady Khadija,\nand Khadija (PBUH) gave 40 sheep and one camel to Halimah. With that, Halima returned to her clan very\nprosperous and returned once more after the birth of Islam and start of Prophet\nMohammad\u2019s misson came to Mecca and submitted to Islam and became Muslims. It has been reported that in the war of\nHunain in Je\u2019raneh, Halimah came to the Prophet of Allah and the Prophet\n(PBUH&HP) stood in front of her as a sign of respect and prepared an area\nfor her to sit.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the blockade of Taef, Muslim\nsoldiers took Shima, the foster sister of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH&HP),\ncaptive. She introduced herself to them\nand said, \u201cI am the foster sister of your leader.\u201d4 They took her to the\nMessenger (PBUH&HP) and reported what she had said. The Holy Prophet (PBUH&HP) asked for\nproof, to which she provided. The\nProphet (PBUH&HP) was convinced and gave his respects. With tears in his eyes he said, \u201cIf you want,\nI can return you to your tribe, and if you want, you are welcome to stay with\nus in respect and dearness.\u201d Shima\nexpressed that she wanted to return to her tribe. She then became Muslim and the Holy Prophet\n(PBUH&HP) gave her several camels and sheep to take with her. It was in this manner, that the Holy Prophet\nexpressed his appreciation to Halima. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drought was a common problem for\ntribes outside of Mecca per their geographical location. Thus, such tribes\nalways sought a way to earn additional income through caregiving to the\nchildren of wealthy families and breastfeeding their infants. This was also an\nadvantage for the families to send off their infants and young children in the city\nas much disease lived within the city especially for infants and young\nchildren; this also saved them from other incidents, which normally takes place\nin a city. Further the children learned genuine Arabic by not being exposed to\nseveral dialects when away from the city. (Forouq Abadiat, Ja\u2019far Subhani, vol.\n1, pg.159)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
