\nOne of the common beliefs among all nations and religions is believing in a\ndivine savior<\/strong> who is the cause of vast blessings and charity\nfor human being. Of course, such savior differs from one nation to another; and\nit would be discussed in the article: Mahdi <\/strong>(PBUH)<\/strong> in\nreligions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Believing in a savior is in human’s nature that\ncauses hope giving and inspiring. Shia insists explicitly on existence of\na savior, Mahdi (PBUH), but the difference is that in Ithna’ashari<\/em>Shia (1)<\/sup>,\nbelieving in Mahdi (PBUH) is one of the principles of the school. Prayers to\nAllah (SWT) and acceptance of worships would be accomplished only by\nbelieving in this important base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this article Shiite’s opinion on definite\nbelieving in a savior will be emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will declare Mahdi’s (PBUH) characteristics\nfrom Shiite’s point of view, his occultation and his basic role in the world.\nAlso we will explain the era of his reappearance and the golden period of his\ngovernorship briefly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shiites believe in this heavenly Promised<\/strong> (Mahdi (PBUH)) firmly\nand has fully talked about him.  Below, the aspects of this belief are\ndeclared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who is the Savior according to Shiite beliefs?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shiites believe that the Savior (Mahdi (PBUH)) is the\nninth descent of Imam Hussain (PBUH), the\nthird Imam of Shiites. Imam Hussain (PBUH) is the\nson of Imam Ali (PBUH) and Lady Fatimah (PBUH) the\nProphet Muhammad’s (PBUH&HP) daughter. Mahdi (PBUH) is\nson of Imam Hassan Askari (PBUH) (the eleventh Imam of\nShiites). According to reliable narratives from the Prophet of Islam (PBUH&HP),\nMahdi (PBUH) is his namesake. He was born in the city of Samerah<\/em> in Iraq in\nyear 255 AH (Lunar Calendar). He is one of the people who live much longer than\nother in history. Shiites believes that he is alive but away from people’s\neyes. Mahdi’s (PBUH) occultation (not absence) is the will of Allah (SWT), however,\nthis occultation has protected his life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mahdi (PBUH) is\nthe twelfth Imam of Ithna’ashari Shiites and their greatest leader in the world\nat present and Shiite’s flag is in his hands. His location is not known exactly\nand Shiites believe that he lives among people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is the most pious, just, learned and truthful\nof all the people. Shia considers him as an infallible<\/strong> (which\nmeans he is away from any sin and fault). He is the true interpreter of Holy\nQuran and the performer of right commandments of Islam. He is the most similar\nperson to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH&HP). Allah (SWT) gives\nHis blessing to the world through Mahdi (PBUH).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 He has occulted for an unknown period, but benefits mankind like\nthe sun behind the clouds. He is the kindest of all people and whatever Shiite\nhas is indeed from him. There are many arguments about his occultation, which\nwe will describe in an article titled “Occultation”<\/strong>.\nThere would berelief (Faraj<\/em>)after this\noccultation by the will of Allah (SWT) which\nis known as “Reappearance”<\/strong> era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At first, he will rise from Mecca and\nwill organize a worldwide revolution to spread justice. He will destroy all the\nwicked and will propagate honesty and theism. He will govern the entire world\nseveral years and in the golden era of his appearance, people will experience a\ndivine government, which was desired by all of previous prophets and Imams. In\nthis era, Jesus Christ<\/strong> will come from sky to the earth to help\nMahdi (PBUH). The number of his leading companions are 313 (same as the number\nof soldiers in the first battle of Islam) who are the outstanding people in the\nhistory. In fact most of them do not belong to that time but they will gain\ntheir lives once again by the command of Allah (SWT) to help\nMahdi (PBUH). Further, he will punish the enemies of previous Imams. More\ndetails about this era will be discussed in the article: “Reappearance\nEra”<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And finally, after years of his governorship, he\nwill be martyred by the most vicious of all people and that is the time when\nall people will die and will be raised by Allah’s (SWT) will in\nthe day of resurrection for the final judgment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
