The issue was so important that the\nMessenger of Allah (PBUH&HP) repeated his question three times, \u201cDo you\n(promise) to do that which I ask you to?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man confirmed all three times. He\nhad come to the Messenger of Allah asking for advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH&HP) then\nsaid: \u201cThink about its consequence before performing any action; if that act is\ncause of growth (guidance) for you, and if it is an act that would misguide\nyou, leave it.\u201d1<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unfortunately most people in today\u2019s\nsociety focus on immediate gratification. \nThey use any means to reach those desires, and pay little attention to\nthe consequence of their actions. People often don\u2019t think about the\nrepercussions of their decisions, whether a decision they made involves the\nsatisfaction of Allah, whether it is in accordance to the traditions of the\nProphet (PBUH&HP), and whether it leads or misleads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Being able to think about our actions\nis an invaluable tool, which distinguishes mankind from other creatures. Thus,\nthe Prophet\u2019s (PBUH&HP) simple advice to the Arab man is a golden scroll to\nuse and constantly evaluate our large and smaller actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Along the same lines, the Holy Prophet\n(PBUH&HP) said the following to one of his companions, Ibn Masoud, \u201cO Son\nof Masoud, whenever you wanted to do something, (make sure) it is out of\nknowledge and thought. Refrain for\nacting without knowing and thinking\u2026(2)(3) <\/p>\n\n\n\n
