With her baby in her arms, Lady Mary\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0returned from the eastern outskirts and into her town: \u201cand she came to her people with him, carrying him (with her)\u201d (Quran\u00a019:27).<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>When they saw a baby in her arms, their mouths widened from surprise. Those who knew about Lady Mary\u2019s\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0chastity and had heard of her piety and virtue became very worried. Some even began to doubt, while others hasty in judgment began to condole her: \u201cWhat a pity! What disgrace upon that good family!\u201d<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>They said: &#8220;O Mary! Truly an amazing and wrong thing you have done!&#8221; (Quran,\u00a019:27).<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>Some others told her: \u201cO! Sister of Harun, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste\u201d (Quran,\u00a019:28).<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>Upon this, Lady Mary\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0remained silent, as Allah\u00a0(SWT)\u00a0had commanded, and only pointed to her son.<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>This response however, surprised them even more; and perhaps some considered it ridiculous. Their anger rose thinking Lady Mary\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0has made a ridicule of them.\u00a0\u00a0They said: &#8220;How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?&#8221; (Quran,\u00a019:29)<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>This situation however, did not last long, while the child unexpectedly began to speak:\u00a0<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>\u201cI am indeed a servant of Allah.<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>He has given me revelation;<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>And made me a prophet;<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>And He has made me blessed (for all people) wherever I am;<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>And has enjoined on me Prayer and Charity as long as I live;<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>And has made me kind, gracious, and grateful to my mother;<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>And not unmerciful and overbearing\u201d (19:32)<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>And finally, this child says: \u201cSo Peace be upon me, the day I was born, the day I will pass away, and the day that I shall be raised up to life (again)!\u201d<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p><strong>(Reference:\u00a0<em>Tafsir Nemunah<\/em>, vol. 13, Interpretation of the chapter\u00a0<em>Mary<\/em>\u00a0(19) of the Holy Quran)\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The passage recounts the Quranic miracle of **Prophet Isa** speaking from the cradle to defend **Lady Mary** and proclaim monotheism.
