Imam Kadhim\u00a0(PBUH),\u00a0the seventh Imam from the lineage of Prophet Muhammad\u00a0(PBUH&HP),\u00a0was born on the 7th<\/sup>\u00a0of\u00a0Safar<\/em>\u00a0of year 128 (A.H). He was born in a house located between\u00a0Mecca\u00a0and\u00a0Medina\u00a0named as \u201cAbva\u201d;\u00a0<\/em>and he\u00a0was named \u201cMusa<\/em>\u201d, but was also referred to as \u201cAb al-Hassan<\/em>\u201d. His lifetime was contemporary with the government of the Abbasid caliphs. During his lifetime, he suffered greatly from the oppression and torture of the caliphs in his time. He was put in prison for many years of his lifetime.<\/p>

Imam Kadhim\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0was not only superior to all the scholars and scientists of his time in knowledge, but he was also famous for his moral virtues and high humane characteristics. These superiorities became so well known that almost all scholars who familiarized themselves with Imam Kadhim\u2019s\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0glorious life have praised him highly.<\/p>

Famous Sunni scholar\u00a0Ibn Hajar Haithami\u00a0<\/em>says\u00a0<\/em>in regards to Imam Kadhim\u00a0(PBUH):<\/p>

\u201cMusa al-Kadhim was the heir of his father\u2019s knowledge, excellence, and perfection. He was titled \u201cKadhim<\/em>\u201d because of his forgiving heart and patience towards the ignorant people. Furthermore, during his lifetime, no one was similar to him in divine knowledge, worldly knowledge, and in forgiveness.\u201d[1]<\/a><\/p>

It has been narrated in the book\u00a0al-Tawhid<\/em>[2]<\/a>by Sheikh Sadouq: Hisham ibn Hakam (the great student of Imam Sadiq\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0and Imam Baghir\u00a0(PBUH)) has said that there was a great Christian scholar named “Burayhah<\/em>“. Burayhah was Christian for about seventy years. He was seeking the truth and was in search of the right sect in Islam. He would discuss and research about each sect, but every time he talked with a group of Muslims he was not satisfied with their beliefs. He would say, “if your leaders were the right and true leaders, then you should have known at least some truth.” Continuing to seek for the truth, he heard about the Shiite faith and its well-known scholar Hisham ibn-Hakam. After debating with Hisham he asked: \u201cWhom do you follow, obey, and truly believe in?” Hisham introduced Imam Sadiq\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0and described his character to Burayhah. Burayhah then became eager to see Imam Sadigh\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0so he prepared himself for a trip from\u00a0Iraq\u00a0to\u00a0Medina\u00a0with Hisham. As they were going to visit Imam Sadiq\u00a0(PBUH),\u00a0in the corridor of the house of Imam Sadiq\u00a0(PBUH), they met Imam Kadhim\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0who was a child at the time. Hisham and Burayhah greeted Imam Kadhim\u00a0(PBUH). Hisham explained the story of Borayhah for him.\u00a0<\/p>

Imam Kadhim asked Burayhah: \u201cO Borayhah! How much are you aware of your book (the Bible)?”<\/p>

Borayhah answered: “I am aware of my book.”<\/p>

Imam asked: \u201cHow much do you believe in its interpretation?”<\/p>

He asked: “I believe in it as far as I know about it.”<\/p>

The Imam began reciting some of the verses of the bible.<\/p>

Burayhah was so affected that he said, \u201cJesus would recite the bible just as you have recited it. No other than Jesus had read it as such”. He then continued, “I have been looking for someone like you for over fifty years.\u201d<\/p>

Burayhah and his servant then became Muslims at that moment. Then Hisham, Burayhah, and the servant went to Imam Sadiq\u00a0(PBUH).\u00a0Hisham explained the whole story for the Imam.<\/p>

Imam Sadiq\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0recited this verse of the holy Quran: \u201cThey were descendants one of another, and Allah is Hearer, Knower.<\/em><\/strong>“[3]<\/a>, [4]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>

Congratulations to all upon the birth anniversary of\u00a0Imam Kadhim<\/strong>\u00a0(PBUH).\u00a0\u00a0May the almighty Allah bring all Muslims prosperity on this auspicious occasion.<\/p>
