If people express endeavor and vitality, they would be able to benefit others as well as themselves. Islam rejects an inactive life and showing laziness in work which results in economic downturn and increasing poverty in the community. There are many narrations given from the holy prophet\u00a0(PBUH&amp;HP)\u00a0and his successors\u00a0(PBUT)\u00a0regarding encouraging to work actively in which some precious characteristics of such people have been addressed. For instance, the holy prophet\u00a0(PBUH&amp;HP)\u00a0said: \u201cworship consists of ten parts which nine parts of it relates to work and effort to achieve legitimate sustenance.\u201d<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0Imam Kadhim\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0also said in this regard: \u201cAllah\u00a0(SWT)\u00a0indeed does not like an inactive person who exceedingly sleeps.\u201d<a href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\">[2]<\/a><\/p><p>The Ahl al- Bayt of the holy prophet\u00a0(PBHT)\u00a0were also hard working in their personal life and modeled a great sample for their followers. Imam Kadhim\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0used to work hard himself to provide daily costs for his family.<\/p><p>Hasan ibn Ali, one of the companions of Imam Kadhim\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0narrates: \u201cOnce I saw Imam Kadhim\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0in the middle of the farm he owned. His feet were soaked in sweat (due to hard work). I told him: \u201cMay I get sacrificed for you, where are the workers to work instead of you?\u201d Imam said:\u201d The one who was even better than me and my father used to work himself in his field.\u201d I asked:\u201d Who is the better one than you and your father?\u201d<\/p><p>He responded: \u201dThe holy prophet\u00a0(PBUH&amp;HP)\u00a0and Amir al-Mu\u2019minin (PBUH)\u00a0and my grand fathers who they used to do their work themselves and with their own hands, since this is the tradition of all prophets, messengers, and the righteous people.<a href=\"#_ftn3\" name=\"_ftnref3\">[3]<\/a><\/p><p>According to this narration, Imam Kadhim\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0taught us the importance of effort to obtain the sustenance.
