Imam Kadhim\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0took the leadership of\u00a0Shia\u00a0<\/em>after the martyrdom of his honorable father in in year 148 and spent rest of his noble life in Madina and Baqdad. He was unique of his time and no one could qualify to be compared with him in knowledge, piety and worshiping Allah\u00a0(SWT). Even the\u00a0Sunni<\/em>\u00a0scholars who do not approve his appointment as\u00a0Imam<\/em>\u00a0by Allah\u00a0(SWT)\u00a0have addressed him with goodness and\u00a0magnanimity.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Ibn Abi al-Hadid (the\u00a0mu’tazili<\/em>\u00a0sunni<\/em>\u00a0scholar) has described the holy\u00a0Imam<\/em>\u00a0as follows:<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u201cThe religious, jurisprudence, worship, tolerance and patience were all gathered in him.\u201d[1]<\/a><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Ibn Emad (the\u00a0Hanbali sunni<\/em>\u00a0scholar) has written in \u201cShazarat al-Zahab\u201d:<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0\u201cMusa ibn al-Jaffar was a great person. He was one of the most righteous, pious, generous and patient people.\u201d Then he narrates from Abu Hatam: \u201cHe is trustworthy and a leader of Muslims.\u201d\u00a0[2]<\/a><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Yafeie (a\u00a0sunni<\/em>\u00a0scholar) says:<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u201cHe was truly righteous, pious, patient, merciful and generous.\u201d\u00a0[3]<\/a><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Yahya ibn Hasan ibn Ja`far (the famous\u00a0sunni<\/em>\u00a0genealogist) also comments about him:<\/p>

\u00a0<\/sup><\/p>

\u201cMusa ibn Ja`far was being called \u201cthe righteous servant\u201d because of his worships and\u00a0ijtihad\u00a0<\/em>(striving on the path of Allah\u00a0(SWT).)\u201d\u00a0[4]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Moreover, ibn Khallakan (the\u00a0shafe\u2019i sunni<\/em>\u00a0historian) narrates from Khatib:<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0\u201cHe was honorable and generous. He used to bag golden coins in amounts of 200, 300, 400 and divide them between the people of Madina. His gold bags were famous.\u201d\u00a0[5]<\/a><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Zahabi (the famous\u00a0sunni Rejali<\/em>\u00a0(an expert in investigation of the trustworthiness of narrators)) has written about Imam Kadhim\u00a0(PBUH):<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0\u201cMusa ibn Ja`far was one of the most generous scholars and also one of the most pious servants of Allah\u00a0(SWT)\u201d\u00a0[6]<\/a><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Owing all the good moral characters mentioned above made Musa ibn Ja`far\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0so popular amongst people and they acknowledged that he had various extraordinary abilities. Ibn Jozi (the\u00a0hanbali sunni muhaddith<\/em>\u00a0(a person who memorizes and narrates a lot of narrations) and historian) and ibn Hajar Haytami (the\u00a0shafe\u2019i sunni\u00a0<\/em>religious jurisconsult) narrate in this regard:<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0\u201cShaqiq Balkhi, the famous scholar in mysticism, encountered Musa ibn Ja`far\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0in the\u00a0Hajj\u00a0<\/em>pilgrimage in the year 149. He tried to ask Musa ibn Ja`far\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0a question several times and each time the Imam revealed what he had in his mind by reciting a verse of holy Quran.\u201d\u00a0[7]<\/a><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Apart from\u00a0sunni<\/em>\u00a0scholars, Haroon al-Rashid, the Abbasi caliph of the time of Imam Kadhim (PBUH) told his minister, Rabi, about him:<\/p>

\u00a0\u201cThis man is from the monks of Bani Hashim.\u201d<\/p>

Fazl ibn Rabi said: \u201cSo why have you imprison him?\u201d<\/p>

Haroon answered: \u201cThere is no other alternative solution.\u201d\u00a0[8]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

As mentioned, the Abbasi caliph and his agents who were afraid of\u00a0Imam\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0spiritual power and his influence on people\u2019s souls poisoned and martyred him on the 25th<\/sup>\u00a0of Rajab of the year 183 in Baqdad prison, despite all his nice\u00a0characteristics that they even acknowledged themselves.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>
