Imam Hussain\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0sent one of his children to him to learn the Holy Quran<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a>. The teacher taught him how to recite Surah al-Hamd, the first chapter of the Holy Quran. When the kid went to Imam Hussain\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0and recited the chapter he had learned, Imam Hussain\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0asked for the teacher and ordered that he be offered one thousand gold coins and one thousand precious cloths as a gift in the presence of people. However, Imam Hussain\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0did not suffice to these two gifts, and as it has been narrated, he ordered that the mouth of the teacher be filled with jewelries.<\/p><p>The way the mouth of the teacher was filled with jewelries is not important; rather it was important that Imam Hussain\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0wanted to teach people that the mouth and tongue which teaches the Holy Quran deserves to be filled with jewelries.<\/p><p>Anyhow, the news of Imam Hussain\u2019s\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0three precious gifts for the Quran teacher for teaching one chapter spread in\u00a0Medina. People were asking, \u201dIs teaching Surah al-Hamd that worthy?\u201d<\/p><p>In order to relieve their wonder, Imam Hussain\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0said a statement, the importance of which to the Quran teachers is much more than those three precious gifts. Imam Hussain\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0said,<\/p><p><strong>\u201dWhat I offered to him is not comparable to what he has offered to my child\u201d.<\/strong><\/p><p>In this statement, Imam Hussain\u00a0(PBUH)\u00a0referred to what the teacher had done as an \u201c<strong>offer<\/strong>\u201d, and considered his generosity\u00a0<strong>valueless<\/strong>\u00a0in comparison with that offer.<\/p><p>This generous behavior is done by the Imam who teaches us in a poem which its translation is, \u201cWhenever the world treats you with prosperity, you should be open-handed towards people, and offer them before you lose your wealth, and get prepared for the Hereafter by this means.<\/p><p>Beware that this giving will not take away your wealth when the world treats you with prosperity, and stinginess will not keep your wealth when you are not in a good financial situation\u201d.<\/p><p><strong>(The above is a slection taken from \u201c<em>Hussain, the Guide of Mankind and the Father of the Worshippers<\/em>\u201d, by Sayyid Muhammad Zia Abadi)<\/strong><\/p><hr \/><p><strong>Footnote:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p><p><a href=\"#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\">[1]<\/a> This child was definitely not Imam Sajjad (PBUH), because the Imams do not need human teachers.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Imam Hussain (PBUH) rewarded a Quran teacher generously for teaching his child Surah al-Hamd, giving gold, fine cloths, and jewels.
