{"id":15970,"date":"2019-01-25T16:32:58","date_gmt":"2019-01-25T13:02:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/roshd.com\/the-benevolence-of-the-prophets-progeny\/"},"modified":"2025-06-12T11:54:25","modified_gmt":"2025-06-12T08:24:25","slug":"the-generous-of-the-prophets-progeny","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roshd.com\/en\/the-generous-of-the-prophets-progeny\/","title":{"rendered":"The Benevolence of the Prophet\u2019s Progeny"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"15970\" class=\"elementor elementor-15970 elementor-1698\" data-elementor-post-type=\"post\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-4d27bf9d elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"4d27bf9d\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-settings=\"{&quot;ekit_has_onepagescroll_dot&quot;:&quot;yes&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-cada45e\" data-id=\"cada45e\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1ef75143 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1ef75143\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;ekit_we_effect_on&quot;:&quot;none&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Imam Hassan (PBUH) was given the title\u00a0<em>the benevolent of the<\/em>\u00a0<em>Prophet\u2019s Progeny<\/em><a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a><em>,\u00a0<\/em>and this title fully illustrates the generosity of the Imam.\u00a0 History is filled with incidents of the Imam\u2019s generosity.<a href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\">[2]<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 The Imam\u2019s stance on the act of charity and his method of treating the poor and needy is exemplary for all mankind, a few of which we will present in this article.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>The Imam was asked why he never refuses a request from a person in need, even if the Imam himself was in need of that request.\u00a0 The Imam (PBUH) responded: \u201cI too am a needy person in the presence of Allah, and hopeful for His blessings and generosity.\u00a0 I therefore feel ashamed (to not help the one in need) when I, myself, am a beggar and in need of the Lord.\u00a0 Allah has made me accustomed to the blessings He has always bestowed upon me.\u00a0 It is as though He too has become accustomed to me giving from His blessings to the people.\u00a0 I therefore fear breaking this habit and refusing the one who requests (something from me), for I fear that if I break this habit and refuse one who requests, Allah will take away the benefit of his blessings.\u201d<a href=\"#_ftn3\" name=\"_ftnref3\">[3]<\/a><\/p><p><sup>\u00a0<\/sup><\/p><p>\u00a0 Once a man visited the Imam (PBUH).\u00a0 The Imam asked for his purpose of visit.\u00a0 The man handed the Imam a written letter with his request.\u00a0 The man put his request in writing and the Imam offered him double his original request.\u00a0 Those present among the Imam\u2019s companions said, \u201cO son of Allah\u2019s messenger!
