  5. The mission of the Prophet (PBUH)

The sending of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family and peace be upon him) or his raising to the position of prophet is the most important period in the history of Islam and the revelation of the Holy Quran also begins from this time. The word Ba’ath means “to be aroused” and in the term it refers to the sending of a human being by the Almighty God to guide others. As it appears from Islamic traditions and historical studies, the issue of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) mission in religions God with some characteristics and signs was mentioned before the advent of that Prophet and many people of the book and some polytheist Arabs were also familiar with it. The promise and good news of the coming of the last prophet (peace be upon him) is mentioned in the Qur’an in the Torah and the Bible, and Jesus (peace be upon him) after confirming the Torah that was revealed to Moses (peace be upon him) The awakening of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has given good news. Also, in these books, even the qualities of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of God be upon him) and his companions are also mentioned. Therefore (and as the Qur’an also mentions), the scholars of the Book, the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his family and peace be upon him) ) as their closest people. By referring to history, we can find many people who were waiting for the appearance and sending of the final prophet (peace and blessings of God be upon him) and some of them, even hoping for the visit of the prophet (peace be upon him) to their place of residence. , the place of emigration, or even the passage of the future passage of the prophet, which can be mentioned as an example, “Bahira Rahab”. According to this, the mission of the Prophet of Islam (peace be upon him and his family and peace be upon him) is a very big event in the destiny of guidance. It was human and the greatness of this matter caused that the Almighty God, as a prelude to this great matter, was responsible for the education and upbringing of that Prophet and prepared him for the difficult future that lay ahead of him. It was due to this divine training that the Prophet (peace and blessings of God be upon him) had extraordinary spiritual states and spiritual observations in the years before his mission, and as a result, he spent all this time with purity and spirituality. Hazrat Ali (peace be upon him) says: “God created his greatest angel from the childhood of the Prophet, his companion and companion. This angel was with him at all times of the day and night and led him in the ways of magnanimity and good morals. The people were suffering from the ignorance and corruption that ruled the society of that day, especially in the city of Mecca. Also, in order to think and worship in a secluded place, they would leave them for a limited time in a year and go to Mount Hara (which is located in the northeast of Mecca). This renunciation existed for Hanafa and some monotheists before the Prophet. It is said that Abdul Muttalib, the great grandfather of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was the founder of this custom. During the month of Ramadan, he would go to the mountain for solitude and worship and feed the poor who passed by. In fact, it can be said that this seclusion is a ground for strengthening the spiritual life of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and It was considered as a prelude to the sending and the revelation to that Prophet. During these seclusions, like other different stages of the life of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Hazrat Ali (peace be upon him) (who was brought up in the Prophet’s house) (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and is in his lap), he accompanied the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and sometimes brought him provisions, water and food. After the days of worship were over, the Prophet (peace be upon him) (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) returned to Makkah and before returning to his home, he circumambulated the House of God. These situations continued until the age of the Prophet reached forty years and God, who made his heart the most noble and obedient and He found the humblest and humblest hearts in front of him, sent them and honored him as a prophet, so that by means of the Qur’an, which made it clear and firm, he would remove his servants from idolatry and lead them to his worship. According to the majority of Shiite scholars, the revelation of the first revelation took place on the 27th day of the month of Rajab, five years after the renovation of the Kaaba, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) in this At that time, they were forty years old. The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his family and peace be upon him), according to his custom, had come to the cave of Hara for worship and meditation for several days. It was on the twenty-seventh day of the month of Rajab that Gabriel (one of the four close angels of God and the messenger of God’s revelation to the prophets) descended to him. He took the Prophet’s arm and shook it and said: O Muhammad, read. The Prophet said: What should I read? Gabriel revealed the opening verses of Surah Al-Alak from God:

“in the name of God. Read Bassem Rabak Al-Dha Khalq. I love human beings. Iqra and Rebek al-Akram. Al-Dhi Alam with pen. In the name of God, the Merciful, the Merciful. Sing in the name of your Lord that you create. Create a man out of dirt. Recite and your Lord is the Most Honorable. God who taught through the pen and taught a person what he did not know.

Along with the first revelation and at the moment of the revelation, great events happened, among which we can mention the sound of wailing. Hazrat Ali (peace be upon him) says about this: “I heard the moaning of Satan when the first revelation was revealed to him. I said: “O Messenger of God, what is this moaning?” He said: “This is the devil who is frustrated and disappointed in being obeyed and started moaning like this.” Then the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) added: “You hear what I hear and see what I see, except that you do not have the position of prophethood and you are only my minister and helper and you do not deviate from the good path. As stated before, Hazrat Ali (peace be upon him) was with the Prophet (peace be upon him) on various occasions, including during his retreats, and this statement of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) in Nahj al-Balagha Khasi states that he was present with the Prophet at the moment of the revelation of the first revelation. Of course, historical studies state that the only person who accompanied the Prophet in those moments was Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and no one except him has claimed to accompany the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of God be upon him) in those moments. After completing his duty and conveying the divine revelations, Gabriel returned to the sky once again. After the revelation of the first revelation, as mentioned in the previous parts, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was inspired and he had extraordinary states. But the quality of the revelation of the first revelation to the Prophet (peace and blessings of God be upon him) and its subject were generally different from the inspirations before his mission. And this caused the mental state of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and as a result his physical state to change. Two reasons can be given for this change of state: firstly, when the first verses of the Qur’an were revealed, they felt the greatness and glory of God more and more. and the Prophet (peace and blessings of God be upon him) was obliged to convey his divine mission to the people in a situation where the Arabian Peninsula was engulfed in a social disorder and in such a situation it was clear that the Messenger of God (peace be upon him and his family and peace be upon him) After conveying their call, they were not only denied and unjustly slandered and persecuted by polytheists, but they would create many obstacles in the way of the message of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to other people. The combination of these factors changed the state of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). But God also strengthened his prophet in this situation and made him more ready to fulfill the great responsibility of his mission. Returning from Mount Hara After this, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came down from the mountain and headed towards Mecca and his home. When they reached home, they told the story of their mission to their beloved wife Hazrat Khadijah (peace be upon them). Khadijah (peace be upon her) who had seen great and prophetic works in him during the years of her marriage to the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family and peace be upon him), said: “By God, it has been a long time that I have been waiting for such a day, and I hoped that one day you would become the leader of the people and the prophet of this people.” The revelation of Surah Mudassar was in the early days of the mission of the Messenger of God (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) when Gabriel descended upon the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) once again and revealed the first verses of Surah Mudassar. He read that:

“In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Merciful, O you who wrap your garment around yourself, raise up your people from the punishment of God Give warning and remember God with greatness and keep your clothes clean and avoid impurity and do good to whoever you do, never give up and be patient for God’s sake.

It can be said: The meaning of this Surah is that from now on, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) should constantly think of warning people against disobeying God and not be oblivious to it for a moment, and it was like this that the first verses of the Divine Book of Religion Islam was revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and he was chosen by God to be a prophet. As mentioned earlier, the first Muslims were with Ali (peace be upon him) due to his closeness with the Prophet (peace be upon him) in the cave of Hara, and the moment of the first revelation was one of those times. So it seems very natural that Hazrat Ali (peace be upon him) who closely watched these great events and the sending of the Prophet (peace and blessings of God be upon him) in the cave of Hara, from the Almighty God, there to the Prophet (peace be upon him) may Allah bless him and grant him peace) believe and be remembered as the first Muslims, both among women and among men. (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) were objected to, they say: “I was born with the nature of monotheism, and I surpassed others in faith and emigration.” They also say: “No one has turned to the right call before me.” Regarding the first Muslim woman It should also be said that according to the general consensus of Islamic historians, Hazrat Khadijah (peace be upon him) was the first Muslim woman, because the Prophet (peace be upon him) after being sent to the first person he met, Hazrat Khadijah (peace be upon him) ), in addition, as it was mentioned in the previous parts, they have implicitly acknowledged the prophethood of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family and peace be upon him). also pointed out After the sending of the Messenger of God, Gabriel descended from the sky, brought water from the sky and taught the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family and peace be upon him) how to perform ablution and bowing and prostrating. Also, other laws and issues of Sharia were gradually revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) by Gabriel. The Messenger of God (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also taught these rules to the first Muslims and they also performed these actions. For example, regarding prayer, it should be said that Hazrat Ali (peace be upon him) and Hazrat Khadijah (peace be upon him) who were the first to pray, stood behind the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) and offered the prayer. It is said that they prayed the noon prayer next to the Kaaba, but at other times they performed this duty in other places so that the Quraysh would not notice them. which will be explained in future episodes.
