It is often assumed that Islamic leaders do not show an outward expression of affection towards their wives and daughters. However, the contrary has been seen from Imam Hussein (PBUH). In fact he was criticized for showing love and affection to his wife and daughter. But such critiques did not stop the Imam and instead he responded through a poem:
“I swear to your life, I desire a home that has Sakina and Robab in it;
I love the two and am willing to give my wealth in this path, and I will not accept punishment from him who criticizes me.”
